Cassidy’s Saddle Impression Pads

Saddle Fitting is not easy...

About 6 years ago I was trying to fit the perfect saddle on my sweet, round, short-backed pony. My priority was his comfort, always...

It turned out to be quite a journey of trying all kinds of saddles, hiring a saddle fitter-or two. In the end we thought we found the perfect saddle, and I made that purchase. Unfortunately, I realized that there was still something wrong...my pony was not happy, so neither was I!

I suddenly remembered a pad we used back in Germany at a riding stable in Bavaria (Invented by a German Lady named Schaldebach). A saddle impression pad, placed underneath the saddle, that will measure the pressure-or pressure points caused by the saddle - if it does not fit properly.

It ended up being such a blessing for the health of my horse and me knowing that we were making the right decisions!

After using our impression pad underneath the new saddle, it was clear that this saddle also did not fit properly. (I am not blaming saddle fitters, they can't always be 100% right. I know that they have done their best) In our case, we ended up going treeless. It was the best choice for us. It is also very important to test treeless saddles, the first few we tried were not a good fit either. But now I have a tool to work with that is telling me exactly, if there is a fitting issue. I got very excited about this and a lot of my "horse friends" as well.

So I researched the most perfect materials to make the Impression Pad. Strong, to be used over and over again. Soft, flexible materials for comfort. Affordable, to help many more horse owners and their sweet horses.

... Cassidy's Saddle Impression Pads were born...

The saddle is bridging and also shifting it's weight towards the back of the saddle (top part of picture)

Weight shifts towards the back and left side of the saddle

This saddle is fitting nicely. There are no pressure points (no light areas where the material has been pushed away completely)
